Captain Francis Patrick Armstrong , 1861-1923
- Born in Sorel, Quebec.
- Was member of Rogers Pass survey party for rail, road and navigation. In the 1891 Census, 30 years, already in B.C. at Upper Kootenay, married, no children, occupation was mariner.
- Brother of Victoria UELAC Founding Member James Ferguson Armstrong.
- In the 1901 census, two children, occupation Steamboat Operator. In the 1921 census, living in Golden, B.C.
- At 56 years, served in WW I as navigation expert on Tigris River in Mesopotamia. Enroute to assignment, ship torpedoed and sunk in Mediterranean. Over 100 men lost.
- Loyalist Ancestors: Jesse Armstrong Lake Maskinonge, Quebec.
