Alkenbrack, Almonte Douglas

Meet Almonte Douglas Alkenbrack (June 2, 1912 – Mar 19, 1998) — lumberman turned public servant. Born in Rydal Bank, ON, he served as Napanee councillor (1952) and mayor (from 1957) before a long federal career as a Progressive Conservative MP: Prince Edward—Lennox (1962, 1963, 1965) and Frontenac—Lennox and Addington (1968, 1972, 1974). Active on several standing committees, he represented rural Ontario with steady service. #CanadianPolitics #PCParty #Napanee
