Walter Alexander Crawford, 1881-1944
- Born in Victoria, Capital Regional District, British Columbia.
- His name at birth was Walter Alexander McFarlane, parents Sarah Elizabeth Crawford and George Thomas McFarlane. They were married in the hospital on the day their son was born and filed for legal separation two weeks later.
- Walter Crawford first worked for Carl O. Thulin at the Willows Hotel before opening his own store in Campbellton next to the Quinsam Hotel.
- He then went on to become the Public Works foreman.
- Walter Crawford was the first wharfinger in Campbell River. He had a delivery business for a time and took charge of the freight and supplies which were unloaded at the wharf until 1919.
- Buried in Campbell River Cemetery, British Columbia.
