    • Caspar Van Dusen (1761 – 1838)
    • The Van Dusen family is descended from Dutch pioneer Abraham Petersen Van Deursen from Haarlem, the Netherlands who settled in America in 1636. Caspar was born 19 April, 1761 in Dover, twenty miles east of Poughkeepsie in Dutchess County. In Van Alstine’s company of Associated Loyalists, he was described as a farmer from New York. Single at Sorel he brought his first wife into the new settlement.
