- P.L.S. : 1868 to 1935, Born in Toronto 26th of May the eldest son of Dr. J.H. Richardson, professor of anatomy at the University of Toronto. Attended Upper Canada College from 1877-1884. and the School of Practical Science , U of Toronto from 1884-1888.
- All round athlete, rugby, rowing and Queens own Rifles.
- 1886-87: CPR branch from Woodstock to London.
- 1888-89 – Leveller on Ontario branches of CPR
- 1889-92 – assistant construction engineer on various Ontario branches, CPR
- 1893-96 – assistant construction engineer on various B.C. Interior branches, CPR
- In 1900, qualified as PLS in BC, engineer in charge of nmaintainance for Crowsnest branch of CPR
- 1902-06 – assistant engineer for City of Ottawa
- 1906-11 : private engineer consulting in Ontario and Quebec
- 1911-15 – managing director of Yellowhead Pass Coal Co.
- 1919-21 – engineer for constriction of Alberni and Great Central Lake of CPR
- 1921-27 – private practice
- 1927-1935 – Engineer for Oak Bay, BC
