  • JOHN PRINCE was born in New Jersey in 1742. He married Abigail Riddle who was born in 1765. They came to Saint John, New Brunswick with other Loyalists and settled at Kingston, New Brunswick. John Prince had his honourable discharge from a New Jersey Regiment and the original document still exists. He qualified for a Loyalist Land Grant. He died in1825 and the following was copied from his tombstone in the KingstonChurch of England Cemetery in New Brunswick: “In memory of JOHN PRINCE died Aug. 17, 1825, age 83 years. Deceased was a native of New Jersey and came to this country with the Loyalists in 1783. He was one of the leading men of his time and died full of years and honours.”
