Walter Leonard Carleton Hanington , 1853-1896

• Born in Shediac, Westmorland, New Brunswick.
• Father Hon. Daniel HANNINGTON He was appointed to the Legislative Council in 1867 and in 1883 was appointed President of the Council.
• Walter shot himself in the foot by accident and died at his brother’s (Dr. E.B.C. Hanington) 360-acre farm called Aldermere in the Highlands north of Victoria.
• Loyalist Ancestor: Benjamin Nichols Darby, 1744-1844, PEI.
