• Born in Advocate Harbour, Cumberland County, Nova Scotia. 
• In 1891 Census, 38 years, married, seven children, living in Guy Ward, Saint John City, New Brunswick, husbands  occupation was barber. 
• Had been in Victoria three years when passed.
• Also, son Frederick William Purves. (Purvers in 1921 census) 
• Loyalist Ancestor: Lutheran Morris, 1739-1839, Advocate Harbour, Cumberland County, Nova Scotia.
