Mary Sybella (nee Fraser) Howard

Victoria UELAC Early Member: Mary Sybella (nee Fraser) Howard, 1909-1997

  • Born in Ottawa, Ontario.  
  • Daughter of Victoria UELAC founding member Alexander James Fraser.  Treasurer in 1941.
  • Attended St. Margaret’s and worked at the bank of Montreal on Douglas Street.
  • Very active with the Victoria Symphony Society as well as charitable causes. 
  • Buried at Royal Oak Burial Park Cemetery.
  • Loyalist Ancestor: Dr. Charles John Earle, 1751-1814, Fredericton, NB. Dr. Charles Earle, of Virginia, was appointed surgeon of New Jersey Volunteers in 1777. He served with that Regiment until 1783 and came up the St. John River in the autumn of that year with other Loyalists.
