Sarah Esther Adams (nee Gerow) 1857-1936
- Was known throughout Victoria for her extensive philanthropic work. The Victoria YWCA stands as a memorial to the work in which she aided.
- Her family left Ontario when she was 6 years old, and she was raised in California. On a visit to Victoria, she decided to stay, and then married Frank Woodman Adams who is also descended from Loyalists. (Josiah Fowler, 1720-1808).
- Both are buried at Ross Bay Cemetery. Loyalist Ancestors: Captain Ebenezer Slocum, 1750-1827 & Captain Isaac Gerow, 1742-1778
