Worked as an Optometrist in Victoria for 50 years. Was a member of Masonic Lodge and Gizeh Temple. Served as Treasurer of Victoria UELAC for a period.

Loyalist Ancestor: Through grandfather was Obadiah Ackerly, 1757- 1843, Settled in Saint John, N.B. Through grandmother was descended from UE Benjamin Atherston, 1736-1816.
