Victoria UELAC Early Member: Muriel A (nee Thain Langley) Carman, 1885- 1954
- Born in San Francisco, California.
- After the death of her mother Mary in California in 1886, her father Robert A. Thain brought her to Victoria to be raised by her aunt Anna nee Thain and her husband James Langley. Her father died in San Francisco three years later.
- In 1921 Census, living in Edmonton with her husband John Carman.
- New Victoria UELAC members in 1935. Daughter Mary Thain b was also mentioned and would have been 12 years old in 1935.
- Buried at St. Luke’s Cemetery, Saanich. There is no marker nor inscription for Muriel on the plot she shares with her husband John.
- UE Loyalist Ancestor: James Thain, 1768-1802, Settled at Kingston Parish, New Brunswick after Revolution.
