Maria Jane (nee Raymond) Lugrin, 1850-1939

• Born in Fredericton, New Brunswick.
• In 1921 Census, living at 870 Esquimalt Road, widow, 70 years, two of six adult daughters living with her. 
• Led incorporation of Esquimalt, first reeve in 1902.
• Daughter Anne (nee Lugrin) Shaw was an early Victoria UELAC member and daughter Ida Winnifred Fahey was a famous opera singer. 
• Buried at Ross Bay Cemetery.  
• Loyalist Ancestor: Samuel Rice Raymond, 1752-1828, New Brunswick.
