Born in St. John, New Brunswick.
Close relation to famous Canadian poet Bliss Carman.
Came west as a young man and joined historic rush to Dawson In 1898. Later joined Dept. of Municipal Affairs in Alberta Government.
Joined military in WW I and saw active service in Ypres, Somme and Vimy Ridge. Cited for active bravery and won commission as Lieutenant. Wounded
Buried at St. Luke’s Cemetery, Saanich.
