- When Janet died in 1964, she was a member of the Canadian Club, Camosun Chapter of IODE, Red Cross, Historical Society and Centennial Pioneers.
- Loyalist Ancestor: Alexander McKay, 1765-1811, died at Clayoquot sound. Also thru mother Kittson, descended from Finnan (Big Finna, the “Buffalo” McDonald who accompanied David Thompson.
