James Thomas McIlmoyl, 1840-1933
- Arrived in Victoria when it was a wide-open mining camp in 1862. Took part in both the Leech River and the Cariboo Gold Rush
- Was elected to the Provincial Legislature in 1878 as the member from Saanich.
- He was an official of an agricultural association, secretary of his school district, and a justice of the peace.
- Owned and operated 300-acre farm in North Saanich

- Married to daughter of early Penisula pioneer Mary Ann Simpson who was born in Esquimalt..
