Henry Cassady Rogers,  1839-1914

  • Born in Grafton, Northumberland, Peterborough, Ontario. 
  • At 21 years, merchant and postmaster at Peterborough, Ontario. 
  • Commanded volunteer militia Peterborough Rifle Company in the Fenian Raids.
  • First 1st President of the Peterborough Historical Society.
  • Moved to B.C. in 1909 at age 70 and died at Shawnigan Lake. 
  • Loyalist Ancestor: Loyalist James Rogers, 1728-1790, Major, Lieutenant Colonel of Militia post-post-Revoltion.
