• UE Loyalist Ancestors: Captain Peter Ruttan, 1742-1829. Peter was an important leaders in bringing the first UE settlers to the Kingston/ Adolphustown area. Named his son Joseph Brant Ruttan ( Elizabeth’s great grandfather) in honour of his relationship with Brant. Also descended from UE John Canniff, 1757-1843.
