David Freeman Young

David Freeman Young,  1858-1917, Mid/North Island

  • From Ontario, was in Cowichan with wife and two daughters in 1881. 
  • Was a locomotive engineer in 1891 in Union Mines, Comox. Had left before the 1901 mine disaster that killed 65.
  • By 1911, separated from wife and  traveled extensively across world including China. Returned to Ontario prior to death.
  • Loyalist Ancestors: Johann Adam Young, 1717-1790 & McGregory Van Every, 1723-1788.
