Charles Henry Lugrin, 1846-1917

  • Born in Fredericton, New Brunswick.
  • In 1897, moved to Victoria to become editor of Colonist, owned by Dunsmuir who became Premier in 1900.
  • Led incorporation of Esquimalt, first reeve in 1902.
  • Daughter Anne (nee Lugrin) Shaw was an early Victoria UELAC member. 
  • Buried at Ross Bay Cemetery.
