In the 1881 (first B.C.) census, single, 21 years, schoolteacher in Saanich. Married in 1883. Boarded at David Coulter farm in North Saanich.
In 1921 census, married, 58 years old, living at 1642 Pembroke Street in Victoria.
In obituary, states “for many years regarded as one of the most able club and social welfare workers in B.C.” In 1928, was 1st VP of local Canadian Women’s Club.
Buried at Ross Bay Cemetery with McNaughton parents, husband and one sibling.
Need to add to 1881 section. Other than Mary Amelia Elizabeth (nee Powell) Doig, only Victoria UELAC member from 1881 census.
UE Loyalist Ancestor: Bartholomew Musgrave, , 1757-1837; Born in England, married in New York, settled in North Sydney, Cape Breton after Revolution. Also William Peter Sparling, 1732-1821
