London, Charles

  • 1863-1941
  • Born in Brant County, Ontario, and went to California in 1877 and then travelled to B.C. in 1880. He settled on Number 2 road and developed the London Salmon Cannery.
  • Charles played a prominent role in the early settlement of Lulu Island. The Charles E. London secondary school was named for him.
  • The farm built by Charles and Henrietta London is one of the earliest farm sites in Richmond. The family lived on the farm until 1948 and it was purchased by the City of Richmond in 1978.
