Jepther James Skinner, 1869-1934
- Born in Leamington, Essex, Ontario.
- Came to Van Isle and travelled to north of Island with three other men to near Port Hardy. When camped, a landslide killed the other three men. Later started a store and became postmaster.
- Buried at Sea, Specifically: “will be buried at sea near Pine Island from the mission ship Columbia at his own request” near Shushartie Bay where lived. Close to Port Hardy. B.C.
- Loyalist Ancestor: Benjamin Skinner , 1731-1801, Stamford Township, Welland County, Ontario.
