- John Fitzgerald hailed from Orange Countybin New York, served with the Loyal Rangers and had crossed the British lines in 1779. He was evacuated from New York City with Captain Ruttan’s Company Six of the Associated Loyalists. He settled with his wife although he was credited with a son at Sorel.
