• Born in Grantley, Stormont, Ontario.
• Buried in Courtenay Civic Cemetery, British Columbia.
• Married to Froats, UE
• They moved from Ontario to Stonewall, Manitoba after 1911 and h became principal of Stonewall Collegiate High School.
• In the 1921 census, still living in Selkirk, Manitoba, 45, married, two children.
• Moved to Courtnay where he was principal of Courtenay High School until 1931 as then retired to a small farm in the area.
• Loyalist Ancestor:  Christian Barkley , 1745-1830,  Williamsburg Township, Dundas County.
