- Peter Dulyea was a native of France who came to America in 1760. He settled in Bergen County, New Jersey where in 1776 he joined the New Jersey Volunteers. He lost 50 acres of land after going to the British and in New York City signed with Abraham Maybee’s company seven of Associated Loyalists. Peter Dulyea settled in Adolphustown with his three sons including Peter Jr. However, a wife and a daughter listed in Sorel never made it to the new settlement.
