- Before escaping from his home in Normand’s Kill, Simon Cole was forced to live in the woods. He joined the British Army in 1777 and acted as a wood cutter at Sorel. Before the war, Simon was also a timber cutter, made stairs and ran a potash and tannery works. He lost two slaves at the time of the Revolution. Wed have no record of the conpany of Associated Loyalists in which he was assigned except that he settled with his eldest son in Adolpustown.
