Meet Marilla Adams — a trailblazing Canadian artist & educator (b. 1864, Zorro, Canada West). Trained at Alma College, Ontario School of Art, New York’s School of Design and the Art Association of Montreal, she taught in Iowa, studied in Europe, and returned to Montréal around WWI. There she taught weaving and woodcarving to wounded soldiers and championed charities aiding the underprivileged. Died Nov 2, 1966.
