Meet Frederick Alan “Butch” Aikman DFC & Bar (Mar 5, 1919 – Mar 21, 1991) — a Canadian RAF fighter ace credited with at least nine enemy aircraft destroyed. After joining No. 154 Squadron in 1942, he flew as Wing Commander Paddy Finucane’s wingman during the sortie when Finucane was lost over the Channel. Aikman scored most of his victories in North Africa and was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross in Feb 1943. Honoring a brave wartime aviator. #WWII #RAF #CanadianHeroes
