Mather Byles Almon (1796 – July 30, 1871) — Halifax banker, politician, and philanthropist. Co‑founder and later president of the Bank of Nova Scotia, instrumental in expanding branches and international banking ties; influential in Tory commercial circles. Grandson of a United Empire Loyalist.
