Rev. George Walter Dean, U.E.

Victoria UELAC Founding Member: Rev. George Walter Dean, 1854-1947

  • Born in Georgetown, Ontario.
  • In the 1901 Census, Methodist clergyman in Morden, Manitoba, and later in 1901 moved to Victoria.
  • Lost son in Vimy Ridge in WW 1 (1917).
  • Served as 1st Victoria UELAC Branch Chaplain.
  • Died at Ganges, buried at Royal Oak.
  • Loyalist Ancestor: James Young, 1760-1811, Judge / Assembly Member  in N.J., settled in Ancaster, Ont.

The Victoria Branch of the UELAC will have its 100th Anniversary in 2027. In preparing for this anniversary, the Branch is seeking any additional information and descendants of the original 100 founders and members of the association of 1927 – 1939.
