    • When James W Wiltse was born on 10 March 1764, in Hopewell, East Fishkill, Dutchess, New York, United States, his father, Jeremiah Wiltse, was 45 and his mother, Mary Smith, was 42. He had at least 8 sons and 7 daughters with Jane Lake. He died in 1827, in Wiltsetown, Leeds, Upper Canada, British North America, at the age of 63, and was buried in Athens Village Cemetery, Athens Township, Leeds and Grenville, Ontario, Canada.
    • Parents: Jeremiah & Mary Smith Wiltse, broter of Benoni.
      He was a captain in the Jessop’s Rangers. Recognized as UE Loyalist.
