    • Nov 23, 1897 – Born to Henry Harvey and Alice Augusta (nee Saunders) Vollick at Dunnville Ontario.  At some point Mr & Mrs George Emerson at Moulton Station Ontario adopted him.  His mother, Alice, remarried and became Mrs Alice Heyes and moved to Niagara Falls New York, USA

      o       There is a note in his file to also notify Mrs Alice Vollick, mother, at Box 165 Lockport New York, USA
      Ø      Previous occupation given as Farmer
      Ø      Previous military experience given as 6 months in the 44thRegiment
      Ø      Religion given as Methodist
    • Apr 9, 1917
      During the advance on Vimy Ridge Pte Vollick was killed in action.  His body was never recovered, or if so, was never identified and he is commemorated on the Memorial at Vimy Ridge.
    • Following the war the British War Medal, Victory Medal, Plaque (Dead Man’s Penny), Scroll and Memorial Cross were sent to his mother, Mrs Alice Heyes, (she had remarried) at 7110 Stephenson Ave, Niagara Falls New York, USA.
       Pte Vollick’s sacrifice was noted in the Dunnville Chronicle and Gazette in May of 1917.
