- From: Voyage of a Different Kind by Larry Turner:
- The Trumpour family can be traced to the Rheinish Palatinate, their movement to Rotterdam, London England and in 1710 to New York. The Trumpours eventually settled at Kaatsban, Ulster County, New York and Paul was born in 1757. The Trumpours were divided in their support during the war and Paul Trumpour made his way to New York where he served as an ensign in Col. DeLancy’s Corps of Loyalists. We cannot trace Paul Trumpour’s evacuation from New York but he was at Sorel and settled with Peter Van Alstine.
