- Captain Peter Ten Broeck was with Butler’s Rangers: Commissioned as a captain in May 1778, he commanded a company under Colonel John Butler.
Hailing from a prominent Mohawk Valley family in New York, he remained loyal to the British Crown and fought on the frontier during the Revolutionary War - One of the early Loyalists who settled on Port Dalhousie was Captain Peter Tenbroeck. As a reward for his service in the American Revolution, he receieved eight hundred acres of land for his service.
