Parcells, John

  • From: Voyage of a Different Kind by Larry Turner:
    • Peter Van Alstine described John Parsall as a farmer from New York but he belonged to a long established Bergen County family from New Jersey. Aged 41 in 1776, John bore arms for the British, probably with the 2nd Battalion of the King’s Royal Regiment of New York, and he supported the Claim of another Bergen County Loyalist, John Baker. John Parsall, who claimed French ancestry, was originally signed in Peter Ruttan’s Company six of Associated Loyalists but switched over to Van Alstine before departure from New York City. He lost his first wife in the new settlement and married widow Parliament
