- Dr. James George Dillane, MB, DOMS, FRCS(Can.) (1901–1980) — Dominion President, 1968–1970, Hamilton Branch. Born on October 5, 1901 in Simcoe, Haldimand County, Ontario, where his Loyalist ancestor James Kinsey had settled, Dillane graduated from the University of Toronto in 1928 and became an eye specialist, practising in Hamilton for thirty years and serving as head of the ophthalmology department at Henderson Hospital until 1960. His full retirement did not come until he was seventy-five.
- During the Second World War he served five years with the Royal Canadian Army Medical Corps, rising to the rank of Lt. Colonel with No. 15 General Hospital — the first Canadian unit to go overseas — seeing action in North Africa and Italy. As Dominion President he had the honour of presenting the charter to the Saint John Branch in New Brunswick. He served the Hamilton Branch as President for several terms and was an active member of the Hamilton executive until his death. Beyond the UELAC he was involved with the Simcoe Foundation, the Church of the Ascension, and the Royal Hamilton Military Institute. He died at Henderson Hospital, Hamilton, on September 10, 1980.
