- He was president of firms both here and on the mainland, and was a director of many companies. His main business interest was Pacific Salvage Co. Ltd., one of the biggest firms of its kind on the Pacific coast.
- He was president of Island Tug & Barge Co., Victoria and Vancouver, and North Vancouver Ship Repairs Ltd.
- He was a director of Produce Sand & Gravel and Heaps Engineering Co. Ltd., New Westminster.
- He was the President of the Union Club, Victoria in 1920.
